Youth Scotland have developed a STEM toolkit with 50 fun science, technology, engineering and maths activities designed to be run in schools, youth clubs, community groups or at home. These can be incorporated into the Hi5 Award, which is an SQA externally quality assured award at SCQF Level 2.

In this workshop participants will have a chance to:

• Try out activities from the STEM toolkit and build their confidence in delivering STEM activities
• Learn how to inspire young people to engage in STEM by making it fun and engaging from an early age
• Learn more about the Hi5 Award

This workshop will showcase activities from the toolkit.

This programme/event is being supported by Education Scotland’s Enhancing Professional Learning in STEM Grants Programme through the Scottish Government STEM Education and Training Strategy.

Participant – What you will need:

• Access to laptop/PC with a microphone & camera
• Set up in a quiet space within your home
• Pen and paper
• Glass of water
• 10 pieces of paper (a4)
• Coaster (or another sheet of paper)
• 3 – 5 paperclips/ or a spring from a pen
• A fridge/ cooker hood magnet or a magnet on your phone case
• A pen
• A piece of toilet paper
• Sticky tape

Where there is a cost to attend your organisation will be invoiced in advance of the event date. If you need to cancel your place on the above event, please let us know as soon as possible as there may be a waiting list. No cost will be incurred for all cancellations up to 24 hours before the event, any cancellations after this will be subjected to a £15 cancellation fee.
