Our world is changing at whirlwind speed. The challenges we face today, from climate change to infectious diseases, are unlike anything we have faced before. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) helps us to understand and address these issues. Women’s contribution to STEM is vital for our future but unfortunately, in Ireland, only 25% of the STEM workforce are women.
We want to inspire the next generation of Irish women in STEM, and so as a part of the Let’s Talk Science Festival 2021, we are hosting a Women in STEM virtual panel event. This event is open to the public (15+ years) and provides insight into STEM careers through first-hand experiences of women scientists and researchers. The panel of scientists involved will span the spectrum of STEM disciplines and will have an open and honest discussion about their lives and careers, as well as answer all of your questions.
