For a long time, legal practice had very little connection to science, technology, engineering or mathematics. But like many things in this new developing world, technology is becoming an essential component of legal delivery.
The practice of law is becoming very varied in its demand for legal expertise and is sourcing individuals with skill sets that were not originally requested or valuable. In addition to this, the average STEM student gains unique critical thinking and problem-solving skills that subsequently lead to being very successful in this environment.
In collaboration with Ryerson Science Society, The Integration of STEM in the Legal Field is intended to enlighten a diverse group of STEM students, with varying degrees of knowledge, that law could be a valuable and appealing route, and also allow them to be exposed to individuals that have also taken this untraditional pathway and discuss the transition from going from a stem major to law school.
