RMIT invites high school students to a free virtual STEM outreach session and enter a competition to win a share in $500 of JB HiFi vouchers

About this event

What? 45-minute session exploring the various pathways and offerings at RMIT including practical learning through the College of Vocational Education, available support for Indigenous students through the Ngarara Willim Centre and what’s involved in a degree in Higher Education.

The sessions on November 11 and 18 will focus on engineering and industry solutions developed by final year engineering students as part of our EnGenius program. Learn about the skills that have been valuable, problem solving, and working as an engineer across the sector.

Who? All students in years 7-12 (all backgrounds, genders and interests)

When? Various dates throughout Term 4, register your attendance today. If you’re interested in attending and none of the available times suit your needs, please email stemm.women@rmit.edu.au.

Where? Online, via Microsoft Teams

Win? Win a share in $500 worth of JB Hi-Fi vouchers by attending one of the above sessions AND sharing a short video (maximum 60 seconds) answering the question ‘What does STEM look like in your life?’ For more details, visit here.

Why? The sessions, facilitated by current students, will explore life as a university student, share stories of various journeys and include industry pathways. This is the chance for your students to ask their own questions through the Q&A channel with direct connection to firsthand university experience and beyond.

Competition details:

Participate in an online interactive webinar and submit a video for your chance to win a share in $500 worth of JB Hi-Fi vouchers.

Guidelines:

  • videos must address the question ‘What does STEM look like in your life?’
  • videos are encouraged to be filmed on mobile devices
  • videos must be no more than 60 seconds in length and uploaded to YouTube (unlisted video with the access link shared) or to Flipgrid (join code: 40ab4bac password: RMITVideo)
  • consent form will also need to be submitted
