Track 3
Interactive Workshops for Educators #1 (Spaces Limited)
Equity, Diversity, Access, and Inclusion in Science Curriculum Materials. This in-person kick off to an educator book study will offer a safe space to think about equity in our science teaching. Attendees will get time to connect with colleagues, talk through teaching strategies, and bring together ideas around how to ensure all learners feel included in our science teaching.
Track 4
Interactive Workshops for Educators #2
Part 1: STEM Designation Educator Network
STEM Designation Educator Network – NE TN. Join this group if your school is interested in seeking the TSIN STEM Designation. Co-facilitated by STEM Designated School educators from our region’s 3 designated schools, and others with experience in the process from neighboring regions, this session will kick off a new network that will meet across the school year to support schools in NE TN with the STEM Designation Process. This will draw on the success of Hamilton County’s educator-led support network, build on the 3 regional STEM Designated School’s efforts, and will be supported by our Hub.
Part 2: Computer Science across the Curriculum
CS across the Curriculum – Educator Workgroup. Join this workgroup to review the basics of what is computer science (CS), what are the new required CS standards coming to TN in 2025, and get concrete ideas about how to infuse CS across the curriculum. Educators will support other educators in this hands-on workshop.
