As VP of Engineering at DigitalEd I lead the development and security strategies for our world class online STEM learning platform, Möbius, since joining 2.5 years ago. As the Security Officer and the head of the Information Security Unit, I ensure that the security policies are implemented and reviewed yearly for each department and how potential legislation changes in four different regions impact our security posture. Before joining DigitalEd I led development and security efforts for a startup that created a bond trading platform and prior to that I have 20+ years of development experience in the region.

Talk Abstract:
In this presentation I’ll be covering Digital Ed’s security transformation over the last 2 years from what it was like when I arrived to our present day posture. This will include the initial challenges, some costs associated with the changes as well as our final destination. Finally I’ll discuss how the education institutions are driving increased security requirements in the online education sector.
