This presentation will discuss current trends in AI regulation focusing specifically on laws and regulations that affect discrimination, disinformation, intellectual property, and privacy.

Cayce Myers, Ph.D., LL.M., J.D., APR

Professor and Director of Graduate Studies, Virginia Tech School of Communication

Cayce Myers is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the School of Communication at Virginia Tech where he teaches public relations, communication law, and communication theory. Prior to entering academia he was an attorney in Georgia. His research focuses on laws affecting public relations practice, specifically regulations on social media. He is the author of Public Relations History: Theory Practice and Profession, Money In Politics: Campaign Fundraising in the 2020 Presidential Election, and co-author of the 4th and 5th Editions of Mass Communication Law in Virginia. A member of PRSA Blue Ridge, he previously served on PRSA’s Board of Ethics and Professional Standards and as PRSA’s representative to the Universal Accreditation Board. He currently serves as the Mid Atlantic Director of PRSA and serves on the national PRSA Board of Directors.
