Introduction to Implementation Science and Implementation Research Webinar

Implementation Science researchers within the Institute for Physical Activity and Nutrition (IPAN) & The Institute for Health Transformations’ (IHT) Quality and Patient Safety Research domain are collaborating to deliver a series of Implementation Science webinars throughout 2021 & 2022.

The first session is designed to provide an overview of the basic principles of Implementation Science and Implementation Research; it will be especially relevant to those new to the field and/or those wanting to refresh their knowledge. The content delivered in this first session will be assumed knowledge in all future webinars/workshops.

At the end of the session, participants will have gained a basic understanding of:

  • Definitions and key characteristics of implementation science and implementation research;
  • Types of research evidence utilised in implementation research;
  • How implementation research fits within the research pipeline;
  • How theories, models and frameworks are utilised in implementation science;
  • Study designs used in implementation research;
  • Implementation outcomes of interest in implementation research.
