Wednesday’s Woman Series: Jennifer Allen

November 17, 2021 @ 1:00 pm 1:30 pm UTC-4

Join TechRochester’s Women in Technology Peer Group for the Wednesday’s Woman Series on November 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM! This 30-minute program is designed to empower the community of women in tech to connect, support and learn from each other.

Each month we will feature a woman who works in tech and learn about them from the following three questions:

What’s your why?
How are you managing a work/life balance in today’s environment?
What do you do to empower women’s voices to be heard, including your own?
This month we are featuring Jennifer Allen. Jennifer joined L3Harris in August 2021, as a member of the Engineering Operations group, driving project engineering deliverables to achieve operational goals and objectives.

Before joining L3Harris, she led both hardware and software platform delivery for the 3D Program at Xerox Corporation. She also held various leadership positions in Research and Development, Engineering Operations, Consumables Strategy, Manufacturing, and Environmental Health and Safety at Xerox and Eastman Kodak.

Jennifer currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Young Women’s College Prep Charter School of Rochester. She previously served as the National President of the Black Women’s Leadership Council (BWLC) and continues to serve as a Senior Advisor. She is actively engaged in encouraging women to pursue fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and was recently invited to join the Hajim Visiting Committee at the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University of Rochester. She was inducted to membership in the 2012 Black Engineer of the Year Award Alumni Association (BEYA) as a BEYA nominee and was honored with the Modern Day Technology Leader recognition.

Jennifer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Master of Business Administration from the Simon Graduate School of Business. She is also a 2011 ASCENT Fellow of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. She also holds dual Lean Six Sigma and Design for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certifications.

Jennifer was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, West Indies. She lives in Macedon, NY with her husband Franklin, and three sons.
